Condolences to the geological community

It is with great sadness and sorrow that we heard the sad news of the passing of Dr. Alireza Karimi Bavandpour, a retired colleague of the Geological Survey of Iran. This sudden and unexpected event has left a deep sadness in the hearts of his friends and colleagues at the Geological Survey of Iran and the Geological Society of Iran.
Mr. Pavandpour was not only a prominent stratigrapher, but also had good knowledge in other branches of earth sciences. He was a capable collaborator, and a noble and kind person.
The Geological Society of Iran, while expressing its condolences to his esteemed family, wishes eternal peace to his pure soul and patience to his survivors, friends, and colleagues at the Geological Organization and other institutions.
May his soul rest in peace and his memory be cherished.
